The inflammation you can’t feel.

“Sometimes the inflammation takes 20 or 30 years before it presents as something big in your body. These small signs can lead to something much worse, and you can stop it sooner.”
“When I eat, I’m thinking about feeding the microbiome, because I know that’s what’s going to keep me healthy over the long run.”

From that talk

Two articles, straight from the classroom.

Missed it? I turned the talk into two short reads.

  • ArticleThe Inflammation You Can’t Feel

Your gut, your blood sugar and your stress, and why the quiet kind of inflammation matters most.

    Read it
  • ArticleKale Chips and the Mystery Goo

Ingredient labels, what “generally recognized as safe” really means, and easy grocery upgrades.

Overheard at the talk

Nobody is afraid of the goo.

I make fresh kale chips for every talk. I’ve watched grown adults take the tiniest nibble. Hand them a snack cake with a mystery filling and they take a big bite to reach the middle.

Come try the kale chips

“When you clean up your diet and start eating a wide variety of things, your taste buds totally change. All of a sudden, you find sweetness in celery.”
